Bella Italia, the UK-based Italian-style casual dining brand, is to open its first restaurant in India, in Delhi, this week.
The 100-cover site is within a Holiday Inn hotel, in an area of the city named Aerocity, near to the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Owned by the Casual Dining Group, the new location will operate under a franchise partnership with Wave Hospitality, in a bid to capitalise on India's growing demand for international casual dining.
The move comes as the Casual Dining Group seeks to roll out its other brands across the Middle East and Asia, including Las Iguanas and Belgo, on the back of its opening of a Café Rouge site in Dubai last year.
Aerocity also offers a variety of hotels, shopping malls, food and drink locations and offices.
Aditya Talwar of Wave Hospitality added: âWe are delighted to be partnering with CDG to open the first ever Bella Italia outside of its home market of the UK. The strong demand in India for high quality and proven restaurant brands gives us great confidence that this new Bella will be the first of many openings in India, and the wider Asia region.â
The fast-growing Bella Italia operates 97 sites across England, Scotland, and Wales and opened four new sites last month (February).
