SH Hotels & Resorts launched its first Treehouse hotel in London in 2019
Treehouse Hotel Manchester will open on 19 March, after almost two years of delays.
The Blackfriars Street property will be Treehouse hotels’ second UK property, following the launch of Treehouse Hotel London in 2019.
Plans for Treehouse Manchester were first announced in 2021 with an initial opening date set for 2023 after Starwood Capital Group purchased the former Renaissance hotel on Deansgate as part of a joint venture with Property Alliance Group.
The Treehouse brand is owned by SH Hotels & Resorts, an affiliate of the global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group.
Treehouse Hotel Manchester will offer 224 bedrooms, of which nine are suites and three are accessible.
Chef Mary-Ellen McTague, former sous chef under Heston Blumenthal at the Fat Duck, will launch ground-floor destination restaurant Pip in time for the hotel’s opening, while Sister Moon by Sam Grainger, a 14th-floor Southeast Asian restaurant, will welcome guests later in the year.
Meanwhile, the Nest in Treehouse and the Hideout will offer a rooftop lounge and terrace with views of Manchester.
The hotel also features a ‘Playground’ gym, a 43-seat ‘Flix’ screening room, and meeting rooms named Willow, Cedar and Chestnut, as well as a series of curated events created by Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford.
