Chef Tom Kerridge has signed a deal with BBC Two for a new six-part series which aims to promote healthy weight loss, due to air early 2018.
Tom Kerridge: Lose Weight For Good will follow a group of 13 volunteers who want to lose weight.
Kerridge, in conjunction with NHS-approved weight loss advice, will create low-calorie recipes for the group which includes vicar, a police officer and a nurse.
Over the past three years, Kerridge has lost 12 stone following his own regime which is outlined in his most recent book Tom Kerridge's Dopamine Diet: My Low-carb, Stay-happy Way to Lose Weight.
Kerridge, who won the chef award at the 2017 Cateys, said: "It's impossible to lose weight and keep the weight off for good if you don't enjoy what you're eating. The NHS offers really sound advice about how to lose weight so I've taken this as the starting point and decided to challenge myself as a chef to come up with really appealing lower calorie dishes people will want to eat every day. The cooking techniques mean there's no compromise on flavour and you're promised a generous plate of food!
"I'm hoping this will help more people to lose weight and still love what they eat. They've all got strong reasons why they want or need to lose weight. So they've agreed to cut down their calorie intake, and in return I'm providing them with recipes they can make and enjoy at home. We'll have to see how well they get on."
The TV show will be produced by Kerridge's own Bone Soup Productions which was set up last year with former Love Productions executive producer, Richard Bowron.
The series was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller of BBC Two, and the BBC commissioning editors are David Brindley and Michael Jochnowitz.
