Manchester House chef Aiden Byrne (pictured) has called together a group of top chefs including Tom Aikens and Lee Westcott to prepare a fundraising dinner for Hospitality Action on 9 March.
Tom Sellers, Vicky Endersen, Dan Smith and Roger Hickman will also take part. All chefs in the group are protégés of Tom Aikens, with all having trained and worked in his kitchens at some point in their careers. The chefs will all cook at Manchester House, which is a Living Ventures concept set within the Spinningfields district of the city.
Tickets to the event will cost £200 per person, including a matching wine flight. Hospitality Action will receive the majority of the amount from each ticket.
Local suppliers to Manchester House, including Wellocks and Ritter Fresh, have helped by donating ingredients, while Liberty Wines has sponsored the evening's wine.
Byrne said: "I'm so pleased that everyone agreed to come and work with me on this special one-off occasion. We all know each other from working under [Aikens] and it is so exciting for us to have all of his protégés cooking under one roof in the Manchester House kitchen. I can think of no better cause to do this for than Hospitality Action."
The youngest chef to achieve two Michelin stars, at Pied a Terre in London, Aikens launched his first restaurant in Chelsea in 2003, and has since opened the four-strong group Tom's Kitchen, including three sites in the UK and one in Istanbul. He also has restaurants in Hong Kong and Dubai.
Hospitality Action is the benevolent charity for the hospitality industry, and seeks to support employees past and present financially and emotionally when they fall on hard times. In 2015 it helped over 2,000 people and spent over £632,650 in support funds.
It holds a series of dinners and fundraising events across the year, most recently seeing Monica Galetti, Mark Sargeant and John Campbell cooking at Brasserie Joël at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel.
