The Sun Inn sold to restaurateur Jamshed Miah

The two AA rosette Sun Inn near Dummer in Hampshire has been sold to restaurateur Jamshed Miah off a guide price of £695,000.

The gastropub received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the 2017 Great Britain and Ireland Guide and is run by 26-year-old 2017 Acorn Award winner Gordon Stott, who is both head chef and landlord and also won the Pub Chef award at the 2017 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards.

The site was previously owned by Clive Fisher. New owner Miah is the managing director of the Miah's group of Indian restaurants Miah's Garden of Gulab, Miah's Spencers Wood and Miah's Pangbourne Tandoori, all in Berkshire.

Planning permission has also been granted to extend the property with an additional 20 bedrooms (the property currently has four).

Richard Wood of Christie & Co who handled the sale, said: "We are delighted to have completed the sale of the Sun Inn on behalf of Clive Fisher and have no doubt that with new owner Jamshed's knowledge and experience of the restaurant industry, he will continue to take the pub on an upward trajectory."
