Davila will oversee the Village Pub in Cirencester in the Cotswolds when it opens on 14 June.
The Pig hotel group has appointed Luis Davila as its first ever pub landlord.
He will oversee the Village Pub in the Cotswolds village of Barnsley when it opens on 14 June.
The Pig, which is backed by KSL Capital Partners, bought the “classic English country inn” alongside the 17th-century Barnsley House hotel in January as part of its ongoing expansion.
The pub will serve food and have six bedrooms.
Twenty-six-year-old Davila began working as a kitchen porter in his parents’ pub at the age of 13 and went on to study hospitality and catering at Wells Academy in Somerset.
He worked at the Bath Priory and the Gainsborough Bath Spa before taking a role at the Pig near Bath, where he joined the group’s Budding Entrepreneur development scheme.
His other roles across the Pig group have included restaurant supervisor at the Pig at Bridge Place, as well as food and beverage manager at the Lobster Shed at the Pig at Harlyn Bay. He was appointed the Pig’s first pub landlord in January.
The Pig group launched in 2011 and now runs eight boutique hotels in listed buildings across the south of England.
Its upcoming openings include the Pig on the Farm in South Warwickshire and a hotel in the Grade I-listed Groombridge Place in Kent, which are both expected to launch in 2025.
