The Hoxton to open hotels in London's Shepherd's Bush and Chicago

Ennismore has confirmed that it is to expand its Hoxton lifestyle budget hotel brand with further openings in London and the US.

The new properties in Shepherd's Bush and Chicago are set to open in 2020 and 2019 respectively .

It is a busy time for Ennismore, which this year has been highlighted as one of the UK's fastest growing businesses by securing the number ten spot on The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list, as well as achieving 29th position on the Financial 1000 Europe's Fastest Growing Companies' list.

The new properties will join sister hotels already open in London (Shoreditch and Holborn) and Amsterdam. A fourth hotel will launch in Paris later this month, with further openings set for New York (later this year), Los Angeles and Southwark in south London.

Subject to planning permission, the 214-bedroom the Hoxton, Shepherd's Bush will be developed on the west side of Shepherd's Bush Green on a site occupied by a 1950's office building, Threshold & Union House. It will include a restaurant, bar and the Apartment meeting and events space offering a cultural events programme.

Ennismore said in the planning application lodged with Hammersmith & Fulham Council that Shepherd's Bush is "a particularly attractive neighbourhood for this model of community-focused Hoxton hotel", highlighting its policy of encouraging local businesses to use the lobby spaces in its hotels.

In the US, the 175-bedroom the Hoxton, Chicago will be located in the emerging Fulton Market district. It will feature a rooftop pool, in addition to a restaurant, lobby space and the Apartment meeting and events space.

Meanwhile, Ennismore is looking for sites for its first NoCo hotel, the new brand it announced last year which will operate at a lower price point than the Hoxton with rates at under £100 per night. The intention is to open 25 NoCo hotels across key UK cities.

Founded in 2010, Ennismore acquired the original Hoxton hotel in Shoreditch in 2012 for around £65m. In July 2005, it added the five-red-AA-star, 232-bedroom Gleneagles hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, to its portfolio for around £200m. Gleneagles is currently part-way through an extensive, multimillion-pound refurbishment with the view of taking "its rightful place as the finest Scottish seat of luxury and country pursuits".

Ennismore is also the owner and operator of three stand-alone restaurants in London: Eggbreak in Notting Hill, Tandoor Chop House in Covent Garden and Breddis Tacos in Clerkenwell.
