The Caterer launches the People Summit 2024

Join HR leaders from the likes of Red Carnation, Dishoom, Fullers and Lore Group at The Caterer’s People Summit event in central London.

The Caterer is delighted to be once again host its People Summit event at 30 Euston Square in London on 8 May 2024.

Sponsored by Access Hospitality, Fourth and Harri, delegates can expect an agenda brimming with inspiration for HR leaders in the industry.

Topics will include: embracing diversity, overcoming negative kitchen culture, attracting and retaining top talent, cultivating wellness, how technology may impact hospitality jobs, and much more.

Don’t miss the HR Leaders panel where Red Carnation Hotels, Fullers and Dishoom will come together to discuss how to lead in times of crisis while supporting the resilience and wellbeing of both their teams and themselves.

Alex Head, founder of the Social Pantry will lead a session on unlocking the potential of prison-leavers, showcasing the positive impact they can make in the hospitality industry. While Hilton will take to the stage to detail how it has partnered with Foxes Academy to support people with learning disabilities to enter the workplace.

The event will also reveal the Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality, in association with Korero and sponsored by Umbrella Training.

“Despite the levels of change in our industry, what never changes is the importance of people to hospitality,” said Dawn Browne, People and Talent Director, Fuller, Smith & Turner.

“Competition for talent remains fierce and customers are more demanding than ever. To deliver great customer experiences you need exceptional people and attracting and retaining great people is the bread and butter of HR leaders.

Browne, who will be speaking on the ‘Navigating HR Leadership in Hospitality’ panel, added: “What we’ve all learnt over the last few years is that we never know what is going to come next, but we can learn from each other and build resilience in our teams, our businesses and the sector.

“I am looking forward to learning from others about how to nurture, develop and inspire our teams, because it’s no longer good enough just to employ people, you have to create opportunities for them to flourish.”

Also speaking on the HR leadership panel is Liz McGivern, VP of people and culture at Red Carnation Hotels, which snapped up the Best Employer Award at the Cateys 2023.

She said: “This is the event of the year for all things people and all things hospitality, as far as I am concerned! 2024 is a critical time for the people side of the business, with so many changes, challenges and businesses being stretched in many different ways. Coming together for an event to reflect, listen, learn and develop ideas is a must for all professionals in the industry.”
