The Bingham to relaunch as the Bingham Riverhouse

The Bingham in Richmond is relaunching as the Bingham Riverhouse next month following a full refurbishment.

All 15 bedrooms have been refurbished by interior designer Nicola Harding to give the property the feel of a "modern private members' club" with light pastels, deep jewel tones and clean lines, while the three-AA-rosette riverside restaurant has a new marble bar and lounge.

Originally built as two Georgian houses, from 1899 the property became a literary hub as Katherine Bradley and Edith Cooper penned poems and plays under the pseudonym Michael Field. In 1984 the Trinder family acquired the property and it remains to this day under the ownership of mother and daughter Ruth and Samantha Trinder.

Samantha Trinder said: "I'm inspired to reconnect the Bingham with its history, to be a place for all to come, be themselves, feel at home, nurtured and cared for, even more than before. It'll be brought to life by our incredible team led by passionate [general manager] Erick Kervaon."
