The software and hardware package is designed to make service faster and free up staff.
Square has unveiled Square Kiosk, an integrated software, hardware, and ordering and payments solution, designed to help cut wait times and free up staff.
Square Kiosk, which is aimed at quick-service restaurants and costs £1 a day to run, is designed to increase order value and free team members from the counter so they can focus on other tasks.
Diners can use Square Kiosk to select the dishes and choose add-ons, with customised orders sent directly to the kitchen.
Payment is carried out using Kiosk’s embedded contactless and chip payment technology. There is also an integrated Square Loyalty programme available, which rewards diners with loyalty points and encourages return visits.
Samina Hussain-Letch, UK executive director at Square, said: “As the industry moves forward and businesses find new ways to become more efficient and more profitable, solutions like Square Kiosk can really help business owners stand to benefit not just financially but also by having the time back to focus on new ways to innovate and provide outstanding experiences for their customers.
“Our job at Square is to provide the tools and technology to help businesses run, start and grow – Square Kiosk is the latest product to join our ecosystem in the UK and we’re excited to see it help our sellers to thrive.”
Square Kiosk works with Square for Restaurants and Square’s broader ecosystem of payments, customer engagement and business insights tools.
The technology can be placed anywhere, including a wall, flat on a counter or mounted on a stand. The system also tracks sales data and instantly syncs menu updates, for real-time visibility of what is currently available.
