Splendid Hospitality Group is to operate the Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House hotel, which is due to open on 5 December.
The 61-room hotel was once the family home of Scottish Naval Officer and polar explorer Archibald McMurdo.
It is located an hour’s drive away from Carlisle, England’s most northerly city, and can cater for up to 60 people at conferences, meetings and events.
Splendid acquired the property and has developed it into a hotel. The acquisition brings the privately-owned hospitality management company’s portfolio to 23 hotels.
It comes after Splendid Hospitality Group bought the Holiday Inn London Brentford Lock from Brightbay Real Estate Partners in July.
Nadeem Boghani, owner of Splendid Hospitality Group, said: “This is an exciting time for our company. The opening of Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House signals another great partnership between Accor and Splendid Hospitality, and further cements Splendid’s versatile development plans and growth throughout the UK.”
Splendid Hospitality Group is run by Shiraz and Nadeem Boghani and has over 2,500 bedrooms and 40 fast food restaurants in its portfolio, which includes the Grand, York, and Hilton London Bankside and KFC.
