Sodexo has strengthened its partnership with the UK’s largest fire service in a contract extension worth £12m.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has chosen to extend its facilities management contract with Sodexo for a further two years.
The contract extension is worth around £12m and will see Sodexo provide a range of services to 385 fire service sites across Scotland, including food and hospitality, cleaning, waste management, caretaking, security services and grounds maintenance.

Ijaz Bashir, head of asset management at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, added: “Sodexo’s staff continue to provide excellent services across many of our sites and we are pleased to extend the contract.
“The team at Sodexo play an integral part in making sure our buildings run smoothly, delivering a variety of services from catering to grounds maintenance, and we look forward to working in partnership with them over the next two years.”
Sodexo has been working with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service since 2019. Over that period it has reported that 41% of spend has been with SMEs, while 90% of Sodexo employees working on the contract live within 10 miles of their workplace. The caterer also confirmed a 4.3 tonne reduction in CO2 over the last year.
The caterer has also recently won several contracts in the education sector, including a 10-year renewal with Northumbria University, a five-year contract with Shrewsbury School and a £4.6m deal at St Leonards School in St Andrews.
