Headed by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, in the four years it has been running the annual event has raised more than £152,000 for the charity, which supports all those who work within the hospitality industry.

This year more than 100 restaurants across the country will take part in the fundraiser, which is sponsored by caterer.com, with chefs including Bryn Williams, of Bryn Williams at Somerset House, London; Claude Bosi of Claude Bosi at Bibendum, London; Sat Bains of Restaurant Sat Bains, Nottingham; Phil Howard of Elystan Street, London; and Tom Kitchin of the Kitchin Group, Scotland; among those pulling on their whites for charity.

Mark Lewis, Hospitality Action's chief executive said: "Jason and I are thrilled to see the traction Social Sunday is getting around the industry this year. Our vision of making Social Sunday one of the industry's most important annual diary dates is taking shape. Social Sunday is a moment when all hospitality operators can focus on their most important assets: their teams."

Paul Hood, chef patron of Michelin-starred restaurant, Social Eating House, will cook with Great British Menu champion, Matt Gillan, who is soon to open Heritage in Sussex.

In Chelsea's Claude Bosi at Bibendum two-Michelin-starred chefs Bosi and Bains will serve up a menu featuring signature dishes from both their restaurants.

Meanwhile, Whatley Manor's Niall Keating will host a special lunch with guest chefs Christian Bau of Victor's, in Germany, Brett Graham of the Ledbury in london and Mark Birchall of Moor Hall, Lancashire, with the chefs totalling an impressive eight Michelin stars between them.
