Shoreditch Nobu hotel to reopen for first time in two years

The Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch is to reopen its doors on 14 June for the first time since closing due to the pandemic in March 2020.

The property will relaunch next month with a new sixth floor, featuring a penthouse and two skyline bedrooms, taking the room count to 164.

The penthouse will have a private rooftop terrace, designed for events for up to 50 people, and has been designed by Studio Mica, which is responsible for the interiors of the hotel. It will be accessible via a private lift, and feature a 'hanging chair' by Lee Broom.

Penthouse guests will also have the option to book the new Yuhi bedrooms for exclusive use of the entire floor.

The Yuhi bedrooms will have floor-to-ceiling windows and step-out balconies and have been designed to combine Shoreditch loft and Japanese Ryokan style.

Each room will feature a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with a rainfall shower, 55-inch television, Nespresso machine and a mini bar housing a traditional Japanese tea set.

To celebrate the reopening, the hotel is offering a ‘welcome back’ package including £100 food and beverage credit, a room upgrade and late check-out.

Founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, the first Nobu restaurant opened in 1994 in New York. The brand has since grown to 50 restaurants and 27 hotels globally, both operating and in development.

The London Shoreditch hotel opened in 2017 and was joined by the Nobu Hotel London Portman Square in 2020. The group also operates a standalone Nobu restaurant in Mayfair at the Como Metropolitan hotel in Old Park Lane, which opened in 1997.
