Sergio Martinez-Rios has been appointed general manager of the four-red-AA-star Llangoed Hall near Brecon, replacing Calum Milne.
Milne had overseen the Powys property as managing director since 2012 following its acquisition by businessman Roger Hancox, who bought the 23-bedroom hotel out of administration following the collapse of the Von Essen group. Milne has left the hotel and the Interesting Hotel Group to pursue other opportunities.
Martinez-Rios had been restaurant manager at the group's three-AA-rosette Restaurant 56 in Faringdon, Oxfordshire since 2014, before which he was deputy manager of Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham.
Head chef Nick Brodie oversees the hotel's three-AA-rosette restaurant.
Sir Bernard Ashley, husband of Welsh fashion designer Laura Ashley, bought the property in 1987 after his wife's death and had it restored and designed after her style.
The Interesting Hotel Group, of which Hancox is a director, also owns Poets House in Ely, Cambridgeshire; Château Rhianfa in Anglesey; Hawkstone Park in Shrewsbury, Shropshire; Sudbury House in Faringdon, Oxfordshire; and the Swan at Hay, also in Powys.
