The Valor Hospitality-managed property is believed to be the closest hotel to the oldest golf course in the world’s first tee.
The former Scores hotel in St Andrews will reopen in February 2025 as Seaton House.
Believed to be the closest hotel to the first tee of the Old Course, the oldest golf course in the world, the Valor Hospitality-managed property will offer 42 bedrooms, six suites and three junior suites.
The hotel is spread across two Victorian townhouses dating back to 1864 and was redeveloped by the US-based Links Collection, which acquired the site from the Mann family, who owned and operated the hotel for 34 years.
Seaton House also features views of the Fife coastline, including West Sands Beach, which is known from the 1981 film Chariots of Fire.
In terms of F&B, the hotel has brought in Scottish chef Roy Brett, who will be heading an outpost of his signature Ondine Oyster and Grill.
Brett opened the Michelin Guide-listed seafood and shellfish restaurant in 2009 in Edinburgh’s Old Town, which he confirmed will close later this month and reopen in a new location.
Guests and locals will also be able to dine at the Board Room, an informal sharing plates restaurant, and Old Tom’s Bar, which has been inspired by local golfing legend Old Tom Morris.
Euan McGlashan, global co-founder and chief executive at Valor Hospitality Partners, said: “When Seaton House opens its doors, guests will enjoy a highly personalised level of service at Ondine Oyster & Grill, The Board Room, Old Tom’s Bar and throughout the hotel.
“It will build on Scotland’s world-renowned welcoming hospitality and warm, local spirit, with a truly exceptional culinary experience."
Roy Brett, chef founder of Ondine Oyster & Grill, added: “From the moment Euan approached me about bringing the Ondine concept to St Andrews I have been excited.
“We have a desire to showcase the best of Scotland’s produce at the hotel, and we will ensure that Seaton House will provide an unmatched experience.
“With an ethos focused on genuine hospitality, Ondine and Seaton House complement each other perfectly, so we are proud to be opening in St Andrews, and with our upcoming relocation in Edinburgh, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic year. We can’t wait to get started and open our doors to our future guests.”
