Gray’s Inn dates back to the 14th century and is one of the four Inns of Court responsible for training barristers.
Searcys has secured a catering services partnership with Gray’s Inn in the City of London.
Gray’s Inn dates back to the 14th century and has been home to lawyers since 1388. As one of the four Inns of Court responsible for training barristers before and after their Call to the Bar, the venue hosts everyone from students to Benchers (the Inn’s senior members).
During the 16th century, Queen Elizabeth I was a patron of Gray’s Inn.
The London-based event caterer will supply Hall Lunches in a traditional buffet style, as well as a selection of dishes and drinks at the Bridge Bar.
Searcys will also manage the Inn’s wide-ranging corporate and private events spaces, including the outdoor marquee, which can host summer parties and weddings during the warmer months.
The new menus have been chosen by Searcys’ executive chef Richard Oxley and showcase suppliers such as London Smoke and Cure, Notes Coffee, and Greyfriars Vineyard.
Searcys’ head of Champagne and wine and Searcys’ executive chefs will also host English sparkling wine and cocktail evenings at Gray’s Inn.
Paul Jackson, managing director at Searcys, said: “We are proud to partner with Gray’s Inn and are excited to introduce Searcys hospitality to Chancery Lane. We look forward to welcoming you in the New Year.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Searcys is believed to be the UK’s oldest British caterer, dating back to 1847. It operates nine Champagne bars and restaurants and also partners with London venues such as 30 Euston Square, the Barbican, and the National Army Museum.
