Two former members of the Gaucho Group team are set to launch a new seafood restaurant called Bucket in London's Westbourne Grove at the end of the month.
Husband and wife Adam Hayward and Georgie Godik Hayward have developed a mid-priced dining concept of sustainably-sourced seafood served in buckets and on boards. The design, interiors and branding have been created by Patsy Godik, the ex-wife of zeev Godik, the founder of the Groucho Group; Georgie is their daughter.
The 78-seat restaurant will serve buckets of seafood, including prawns, whitebait and calamari, as well boards of grilled fish and meats served with a house sauce.
Other sample dishes include buckets of mussels with a choice of four sauces: coconut chilli, lobster brandy, pancetta and tomato or classic white wine; crayfish burgers; seafood spaghetti; salads; and raw and cured seafood dishes.
The dessert offer will feature a selection of homemade whole pies, tarts and cakes, designed for sharing.
Godik Hayward said: "The focused menu centres on our own version of classic dishes, complemented by an extensive offering of regularly changing seasonal specials."
The interior design takes its inspiration from a "weatherworn yet rustically luxurious beach club" and features separate dining and bar areas, with seating at tables, the bar and high tables at the pass looking into the open kitchen. There will also be a dedicated space for ordering and collecting takeaway, which the founders say will be an important element of the offering.
"There won't be a fishing net or anchor in sight," added Godik Hayward.
