Sarah Mountain has been appointed executive pastry chef of the Londoner in hotel London’s Leicester Square.
Mountain has more than 22 years’ experience in the industry and has worked as executive pastry chef for several London hospitality institutions: the Dorchester, Corinthia, Hotel Café Royal, the Ned and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
She will be overseeing the pastry selection across the Londoner’s dining offering, which includes signature restaurant Whitcomb’s and afternoon tea venue the Stage.
She said: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at the Londoner as their executive pastry chef and working with the talented team to elevate the food offering even further. I have been working on a brand-new selection of vibrant patisseries to add to the already delicious afternoon tea offering and look forward to having guests old and new come in and try them.”
Among the desserts she will be adding to menus are a hazelnut dacquoise; banoffee pie sandwich; Jaffa cake bar; and strawberry basil and lemon tart.
The Londoner is a 16-storey, 350-room hotel operated by Edwardian Hotels London and opened in September 2021.
