Ruairidh Taylor to replace Kim Yardley at Gisborough Hall

Kim Yardley (pictured, right) is to step down as hotel manager of Gisborough Hall after 16 years with the business.

He will be replaced by Ruairidh Taylor (pictured, left), who is currently operations manager at the 71-bedroom, four-silver-AA-star property in Guisborough, North Yorkshire.

Yardley joined the property in 2001, a year prior to it becoming a hotel. He has assisted with the business's growth and development over the last 16 years and has decided to "explore other interests", cutting back on work commitments to pursue his hobbies and spend more time with his family. He will remain with the business as a consultant.

Taylor joined the business in 2002 as a waiter in Chaloner's restaurant and went on to become restaurant manager, returning to the property in 2015 following a period lecturing at Middlesbrough College.

The hotel became a fully independent hotel in March and plans to start work next year on a new multi-million pound spa, which will open early in 2019.

Taylor said: "Kim has had a huge influence on my career and we are all really sad to see him leave. I have learnt such a lot from Kim and I am looking forward to Kim mentoring me further in my new role."

Yardley added: "Ruairidh is one of our incredible success stories. He has developed into a passionate hotelier who, without question, puts the needs of our guests at the forefront of his decision making. I am sure that he will motivate and lead the hotel team with absolute dedication"

Built in 1857, the Grade II-listed Gisborough Hall was restored in 2002 by its owners, the Gisborough family. It was initially run as a Macdonald Associate hotel until this year when Lord Gisborough took over the management of the property with a newly appointed board of directors.
