King said many guests at his new restaurant Arlington had asked him “what happened to Robert Holland?”.
Robert Holland has joined Jeremy King’s growing restaurant group as director partner in charge of operations.
Holland had been operations director at Corbin & King between 2012 and 2023, having joined the group led by King and Chris Corbin as a chef de rang at the Ivy in 1991.
Announcing the appointment in his newsletter, King said many guests had asked him “what happened to Robert Holland?”.
King was controversially ousted from restaurant group Corbin & King in 2022 after a battle for control with Thai hotel group Minor International, which has since rebranded the business as the Wolseley Hospitality Group.
He has gone on to form Jeremy King Restaurants and open the Arlington restaurant in the former Le Caprice site in St James’s, which he had run with Chris Corbin before its sale to Richard Caring.
King said the reopening in March had been “overwhelming”. He added: “I will be forever grateful for the wonderful reception we received from so many.”
King will open New York-inspired ‘grand café’ the Park in Bayswater this year and is finalising plans to relaunch the historic Simpson’s in the Strand restaurant, which is owned by the Savoy hotel.
