Dogs ‘N' Dough on Bow Lane, Manchester, has launched the Four Bite Challenge following a three-starred TripAdvisor review which claimed the hot dog could be eaten in ‘four bites'.
In the review, user JaydenManchester said: "the hot dog was small … after four bites it was gone".
Owner James Black is now challenging 60 customers to eat one of his hot dogs in under a minute and in just four bites.
The hot dog consists a 100g beef sausage and an 80g brioche bun.
Anyone who can complete the challenge will win a meal for two at the restaurant.
Speaking to the Metro, Black said: "We saw the comment and just wanted to take it in a tongue-in-cheek sense. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and I know you can't please everybody. We had a think about it and thought the challenge could be a good little thing to do. It's a nice way of picking up on negative reviews."
The menu at Dogs ‘N' Dough includes hot dogs such as the New Yorker (pastrami, horseradish mayo swiss and jalapenos) and Enter the Dragon (salt and pepper chicken, char sui crackers, spring onion and sriracha); pizzas which include the classics plus the Pig Lebowski (pulled pork, crispy bacon, smoked ham and yellow mustard) and Caribbean Dream (rum glazed chicken, pineapple and peppers); and sides including dough balls, onion rings and coleslaw.
