Raoul de Souza has described it as an “honour” to take over as general manager at the Hilton London Bankside hotel.
He has been appointed to oversee the 292-room hotel following the departure of former general manager James Clarke last week.
De Souza’s career includes time at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London and Taj Palaces and Hotels in India. He joined the Hilton London Bankside ahead of its opening in 2015, overseeing a team of 92, and was promoted to hotel manager in May 2016.
The Hilton London Bankside is owned by Splendid Hospitality Group and features 11 meeting rooms, a ballroom, a 168-cover OXBO Bankside restaurant and the Distillery Bankside bar. The property won Hotel of the Year – Group at the 2020 Cateys.
Nadeem Boghani, owner of the Hilton London Bankside and vice chairman of Splendid Hospitality Group, said De Souza was the “obvious choice” to step into the general manager role.
De Souza added: “It’s an honour to be appointed general manager of Hilton London Bankside.
“I will continue to foster strong relationships with our guests, neighbours and surrounding Bankside community, whilst supporting and nourishing the talented Hilton Bankside team.”
Splendid Hospitality Group is the operator and developer behind a portfolio of 24 hotels with over 2,500 bedrooms, including the five-AA-star Grand Hotel and Spa in York, and 39 KFC franchise restaurants.
