Pitt Cue Co to return from the embers as co-founder buys back rights following collapse

American barbecue restaurant Pitt Cue Co is to make a comeback after co-founder Jamie Berger bought back the intellectual property to the brand.

Berger and Tom Adams founded the brand, which fell into administration earlier this year, in 2011 as a street food van under Hungerford Bridge. In 2015 it was sold to Tavern Restaurants Ltd who moved the debut bricks and mortar restaurant from its Soho home to a bigger site in Devonshire Square.

Berger is now exploring opportunities for the brand to remerge via products, pop-ups or residencies while a new restaurant site is sought.

He said: “Whilst I was sad to see the restaurant close, I am delighted to be able to take Pitt Cue Co back to its original ethos of barbecue, bourbon and beer – in whatever forms that may take.”

The first event will be a Thanksgiving diving held in central London on 28 November for 50 Pitt Cue Co fans. The event will feature a selection of Pitt Cue Co’s signature dishes, bourbon and beer with tickets going on sale on 8 November.

Updates on the Pitt Cue Co’s resurrection will be shared via social media.
