Founded by Andrew Clarke, chef-director across St Leonards, Orasay and Brunswick House restaurants in London, and chef Doug Sanham, Pilot Light focuses on changing the way people think and act around mental health issues, through addressing the industry specific contexts and environments found in professional kitchens and the broader hospitality sector.
The campaign is working with Time to Change, a campaign affiliated to mental health charity Mind, to support employers through the Time to Change Employer Pledge, which is designed to open up conversations about mental health problems in the workplace.
Every organisation which signs the pledge is assigned to a specialist who can support in a bespoke way and can link employers. The same will go for individual support, details of both will go live on the website www.pilotlightcampaign.co.uk next week.
The team is also working towards designing a poster that can be displayed in the same way as health and safety posters in kitchens and staff rooms, to remind all employees of the actions they can take to support their own mental health.
