A petition has been signed by over 1,000 people to stop a 63-bedroom Premier Inn being built in St Davids in Pembrokeshire, South Wales.
Plans for the hotel are included in the Glasfryn Road development which will involve the building of 70 new homes, with 40 available for locals to buy or rent, and a new swimming pool.
A spokesperson for Premier Inn told the BBC that issues raised by the protesters would be clarified at public exhibitions.
The petition, which was set up by No Premier Inn St Davids (NOPI), claims that Premier Inn "is not contributing financially to the construction" of the Glasfryn Road development.
It also expresses concerns that the hotel will "undermine" local businesses.
The Caterer has approached Premier Inn for comment.
