He joins from the Royal Horseguards and One Whitehall Place in London, another Clermont Hotel Group property.
Pedro Da Silva has been named general manager at the Cumberland hotel in London’s Marble Arch.
He is taking over from Julie Hammond, who was general manager at the 900-bedroom Clermont-owned hotel from November 2022.
Da Silva joins the Cumberland from the Grade II-listed Royal Horseguards and One Whitehall Place in London, a Clermont Hotel Group property, where he was general manager.
Prior to that, he was at Clermont Charing Cross London, RBH Hospitality Management, Marriott in the USA and hospitality venues in South Africa, his homeland.
He revealed ambitions to build the Cumberland’s reputation as a lifestyle hotel and offer its meeting and events spaces, including the 300-capacity Arena and 18 meeting rooms, to a broader audience. The property is also home to bar, restaurant and sports bar Sound.
He said: "I am honoured to take on the role of general manager at the Cumberland Hotel London, a property renowned for its rich history and vibrant presence in the heart of the city. I look forward to working with our incredible team to deliver exceptional new and legacy experiences for our guests, foster a culture of excellence and continue building on the hotel’s outstanding reputation.”
The Cumberland is a Clermont Hotel Group property that has welcomed musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Lady Gaga and Madonna over the years. It operated as London’s only Hard Rock hotel for four years before returning to the original branding in 2023.
