The UK’s first Park Hyatt hotel is due to open under general manager Rike Erdbrink in Q4 2024.
Park Hyatt London River Thames has made a series of appointments to its senior leadership team ahead of the brand’s first UK opening later this year.
Plans for the 203-bedroom property, developed in partnership with R&F UK in London’s Nine Elms, were first announced in late 2020, with an initial opening date set for 2022.
Following nearly three years of delays, the project is set for its official launch in Q4 2024.
Park Hyatt London River Thames will be led by general manager Rike Erdbrink, who first joined Hyatt as an apprentice at Park Hyatt Hamburg in 2001.
Over the past 23 years at Hyatt, she has worked at properties such as Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Park Hyatt Chicago.
She has marked her return to Europe with the launch of Park Hyatt London River Thames, which is set to feature a “secure executive wing”, as well as a living room, large ballroom, events spaces, and wellness facilities.
Erdbrink will be supported by Gonzalo de Estefanía Morales, director of rooms, who joins the team from Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, where he was based for 17 years, having been involved in launching the property in 2006.
Jonathan Sutherland joins from the Nomad hotel in London as director of sales and marketing, while Bart Eissens has been named director of food and beverage, having held similar roles at Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square and Hotel Café Royal in London.
Fabrice Lasnon, former executive chef at Pan Pacific London and the Savoy, has been named executive chef.
Other appointments include Edyta Osiej as director of finance; Tina Harder Larsen Bartle as director of revenue; Guy Lwin as director of engineering; and Mélissa Brette Ogée as director of human resources.
Erdbrink said: “It is an honour to lead the launch of the much awaited Park Hyatt in London. Our new neighbourhood of Nine Elms is one of the most rapidly evolving in central London, one which carries a great legacy but has its vision firmly focussed on the future.”
There are currently 45 Park Hyatt hotels globally in locations such as Zurich, Dubai, Chicago, Chennai, Kyoto and Jakarta.
Hyatt operates 14 hotels in the UK and revealed it will be opening four properties during 2024 in a media briefing held last year.
