The 21-bedroom Park House Hotel & Spa near Midhurst has become the latest property to join the Pride of Britain Hotels consortium.
Located within 10 acres of grounds in the village of Bepton within the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, the hotel was opened by Ioné and Michael O'Brien in the late 1940s and has since remained in the ownership of successive generations of the same family.
It features a restaurant, two grass tennis courts, a six-hole golf course, croquet and bowling lawns and spa.
Mark Yates, general manager, said it had been an ambition of the hotel's owners to be accepted into Pride of Britain Hotels' "prestigious hotel collection" for a number of years.
Peter Hancock, chief executive of Pride of Britain Hotels, added: "We're thrilled to welcome Park House into the collection, bringing us even closer to our self-imposed limit of 50 hotels. It is a genuine example of a family-owned property that is loved by its many discerning guests."
Other Pride of Britain member hotels include the Goring hotel in London; Gravetye Manor in West Hoathly, West Sussex; and Northcote in Langho, Lancashire.
