French hospitality group Paris Society will launch its first UK venue in London's Covent Garden in March.
Louie will be a Parisian-style restaurant with musical entertainment and a New Orleans-inspired menu.
It is in a three-floor, 11,000 ft townhouse next to the Ivy Club. It will have 150 covers and a late licence until 2.30am from Monday to Saturday and 11pm on Sundays.
Mississippi-born executive chef Slade Rushing will serve a menu taking influences from Creole cuisine, French gastronomy and New York. He was previously head chef at Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans.
The restaurant and bar has been named in tribute to iconic jazz performer Louis Armstrong and French king Louis XIV, known as Louis the Great.
Louie is a joint venture with Guillaume Glipa who has headed some of London’s prestigious venues including Chiltern Firehouse, Birley Clubs, Zuma and Coya. He was also executive director at Annabel’s, Richard Caring’s private members’ club.
Paris Society was founded by Laurent de Gourcuff who established Parisian venue Girafe in the Place du Trocadero.
