Ollie Dabbous' Hideaway café finds permanent home

Chef Ollie Dabbous is to open a permanent location of his coffee shop and deli concept Hideaway in London this winter.

He has taken a site at 100 Mount Street, close to his Michelin-starred Hide restaurant in Mayfair.

Current Hide sous chef Andrew Alu will head up the kitchen, serving a menu including pastries, croque monsieur, lobster roll, oysters and Champagne.

The launch follows Hideaway pop-ups at Burlington Arcade and Chelsea Barracks over the past two years.

Dabbous said: “Hide is somewhere people linger, whereas Hideaway provides a more immediate offering for people that don’t want to compromise on quality just because they have to on time. I’m looking forward to creating a menu that will both surprise and satisfy our guests.”

Retail items such as jams, chutneys and pickles will be available to purchase.

Wines will be selected by Hide collaborators Hedonism with teas from Mariage Frères and a coffee menu mirroring that at the main restaurant.

Dabbous ran an eponymous Michelin-starred London restaurant from 2012-2017. He opened Hide in 2018, with a Michelin star following just six months after launch.
