Oakman Inns buys Buckingham pub from Abbarco

Oakman Inns has bought the freehold of Buckingham pub Number Thirteen from Abbarco for an undisclosed sum.

The pub occupies a detached three-storey Grade II-listed building on the high street of the market town. It also features customer parking and outdoor seating as well as four self-contained flats.

Oakman Inns' plans for Number Thirteen include a complete refurbishment and extension of the property.

The pub company was founded by chief executive and 2018 Pub and Bar Catey award winner Peter Borg-Neal in 2007 and currently operates 25 sites across the home counties up to Warwickshire, with others in the pipeline. Its most recent opening was the Royal Foresters in Ascot, last August.

Keith Goodwin, associate director of Davis Coffer Lyons, which brokered the sale, said: "Number Thirteen has been owned and operated by our client for approximately 11 years trading as a late-night pub and bar.

"While the property is already well known, Oakman Inns are planning to completely refurbish and extend this Grade II-listed property. Oakman Inns has an outstanding reputation as both an operator of great quality as well as one who is community conscious, so we are certain Peter and his team will make a tremendous success of this venture."
