Nobu Berkeley Street to close on 23 March before relocating to Portman Square this summer

Nobu Berkeley Street will close on 23 March, relocating to Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, this summer.

Nobu Hospitality, the lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, said all kitchen and front of house team members had been given the opportunity to relocate with the business and offered interim roles at alternative venues.

A spokesperson said: “This is an exciting venture for the global brand, and we are delighted to be taking our fantastic Berkeley ST team with us on the next phase of the Nobu journey as we open in Marylebone. Our team operates as a family and we have every confidence that they will each play an integral role in marking this milestone for Nobu in London.”

Nobu opened in Mayfair’s Berkeley Street 15 years ago and held a Michelin star at the site between 2006 and 2014.

The group’s London portfolio includes the Shoreditch Nobu hotel, which opened in 2017, and a second standalone Nobu restaurant at the Como Metropolitan hotel in Old Park Lane, which opened in 1997.

Reservations are now being taken for the 249-bedroom Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, which previously operated as the Radisson Blu Portman Square

News of the closure was revealed after Landlord LRC has instructed agent Knight Frank to market the site after the group surrendered its lease.
