New World Trading Company announces Botanist Reading launch date

New World Trading Company is to open a Botanist restaurant in Reading, Berkshire on 29 May.

 

Occupying 4,751 sq ft on the ground floor of a former bank at 3-5 King Street, the 80-cover restaurant is expected to create 50 new jobs.

 

The drinks offer will include botanical cocktails, beers and ales and a selection of gins. The menu will feature food inspired by the deli, rotisserie and barbecue.

 

The new launch will be the 17th site for the pub and restaurant group, which operates six brands including the Botanist, the Club House, the Oast House, the Smugglers Cove and the Trading House.

 

General manager Matt Tomkins said: "We are very excited that we will soon have a home in such a vibrant city; people from Reading have already been so welcoming and we can't wait to be a part of it."

 

Last October New World Trading Company reported a 70% rise in sales to £30.1m for the 12 months to 31 March 2016.

 

The group was part of Living Ventures Group, which was founded by Jeremy Roberts and Tim Bacon in 2011. It was sold for £50m to private equity firm Graphite Capital, in June 2016.
