The 50-bedroom Rossett Hall hotel in Rossett, near Wrexham, North Wales, and the 45-bedroom Charnwood hotel in Blyth, Nottinghamshire, will now undergo a substantial investment and refurbishment of their public areas, conference and wedding facilities, with support from Santander Bank.
The new Bolton-based company has been set up by chartered surveyor Jeremy Jones, who also owns Convivial Management Solutions (CMS), which operates around 45 licensed premises, including pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Two experienced managers have been appointed to develop the hotelsâ conference and booming wedding business.
Rossett Hallâs new general manager is Martin Elliott who was previously general manager of the Solberge Hall hotel in Northallerton, Yorkshire and was also proprietor of Horatioâs Brasserie at the Lord Nelson in Gainford.
Meanwhile Charnwoodâs new general manager Mark Tulett began his working life as a chef at the Café Royal in London. He later worked in hospitality in America and on his return opened the refurbished Crown Plaza Midland hotel in Manchester.
The Convivial group has previously managed a number of hotels in the past, but has now decided to move into hotel ownership. Jones, group managing director of Convivial,, said: âWe have experience in operating hotels in administration on behalf of insolvency practitioners and the banks for several years.
âNow we are looking forward to developing Rossett Hall Hotel and Charnwood Hotel under our own Convivial Hotels brand into luxury destinations suitable for the leisure, business and the wedding markets.â
The Charnwood hotel, which is ocated on the edge of the village of Blyth, seven miles from Worksop, is a member of Best Western Hotels, while Fossett Hall is situated in a Grade II listed Georgian manor house, built in 1750, near Chester and Wrexham.
