New five-AA-star ratings for the Torridon, Southampton Harbour and Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square

The Torridon in the Scottish Highlands, the Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa and the Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square have all been awarded a five-star rating by the AA.

Located overlooking a sea loch by Achnasheen in Wester Ross, the 32-bedroom Torridon hotel (pictured) offers accommodation in the main Victoria property, an inn and the Boat House self-catering cottage. Its F&B operation, led by head chef Ross Stovold, includes the 1887 restaurant and the Whisky & Gin bar, which serves over 365 malts and more than 100 gins.

The Torridon was bought in 1992 by Rohaise’s parents, David and Geraldine Gregory, and reopened as the Loch Torridon Country House hotel the following year. Dan and Rohaise joined the business in 1999.

Meanwhile, the 85-bedroom Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa has received the five-AA-star rating just four months after its £25m launch on the quayside of the Ocean Village marina. The hotel's design resembles a superyacht and it was developed by Nicolas James Group, owner of Harbour Hotels, in a joint venture with MDL Marinas.

It features the Jetty restaurant, overseen by chef Alex Aitken, the rooftop Harbar, Juice Bar & Café and a spa.

Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, which owns and operates 10 hotels and two event venues, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have achieved this recognition from the AA in such a short period of time post-opening.

"It is testament to the efforts of the team, led by Simon Maguire, the general manager, to deliver an exceptional product and service to all of our guests and visitors."

Located in the Grade II-listed property which at one time housed the Port of London Authority, the 100-bedroom Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square was launched in December 2016. The property features two restaurants, accommodate 41 private residences, two restaurants La Dame du Pic from French chef Anne-Sophie Pic and Mei Ume serving Japanese and Chinese food, and a spa.

Earlier this week it was announced that Charlie Parker, general manager of Ten Trinity Square is moving to Hawaii to take over the running of the Four Seasons Resort Oahu. He will be replaced at the London hotel by Vincent Hoogewijs, currently regional vice president and general manager of the Four Seasons Amman in Jordan.
