Nathaniel Tofan promoted to head chef at Manchester House, as Aiden Byrne steps back

Chef-proprietor Aiden Byrne has taken a step back from his role at Manchester House to focus on consultancy for Living Ventures, which owns Manchester House.

In his place, Nathaniel Tofan has been promoted to head chef of the four-AA-rosette restaurant.

Byrne will continue to advise on menu development at Manchester House, whilst also taking on a wider advisory role for Living Venture's other Manchester-based restaurants.

These include Pan Asian fine dining restaurant Australasia, Artisan, Blackhouse, Grand Pacific, Gusto and the Alchemist brands.

Byrne teamed up with Living Ventures in 2012 to open his restaurant at Manchester House.

Living Ventures CEO Jeremy Roberts said: "We are delighted to confirm Nat's appointment as head chef at Manchester House. Developing people is what Living Ventures is all about and Nat has earned his stripes. He is a talented chef and with Aiden's continued support we look forward to great things in the future."

Byrne's experience includes roles at at Pied à Terre, the Dorchester Grill and Restaurant Tom Aikens in London, Roscoff in Belfast, and Danesfield House near Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Founded in 1999 by Roberts and the late Tim Bacon, Living Ventures currently owns and operates 17 Gustos, five Blackhouses, 10 Alchemists, three Red Doors, as a number of individual outlets including Australasia, Grand Pacific, Artisan and Manchester House.
