Major names including Bidfood and several Diageo brands were among 386 grants from King Charles.
A total of 61 hospitality sector suppliers were named in King Charles’ latest set of Royal Warrant appointments.
The King’s December warrants of appointment were made to 386 companies drawn from those which held the accolade under the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Businesses holding a Royal Warrant, which is granted for up to five years, are recognised for providing goods or services to the monarchy and are allowed to use the coat of arms of the royal they are associated with on packaging, as part of advertising or on stationery.
Each brand is deemed to show commitment to the highest standards of service, quality, excellence and craftsmanship along with the public commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
Hospitality suppliers made up 16% of the latest list with major names including wholesaler Bidfood, which has held a warrant for over 25 years.
Dr Andrew Kemp, BFS (Bidfood) executive director and grantee of the Royal Warrant said: “We see this as a testament of our dedication to delivering service excellence at the core of our business and are proud in the continuance of our service to the Royal Household as we have done since the year 2000.”
Drinks manufacturer Diageo has five of its brands in the appointment list: Justerini & Brooks as wine and spirits merchants, John Walker & Sons (Johnnie Walker) and Royal Lochnagar for scotch whiskies, Tanqueray Gordon & Company (Tanqueray and Gordon’s) as gin distillers, and the Pimm’s Company.
Dan Mobley, global corporate relations director at Diageo, and grantee for the Royal Warrant held by John Walker & Sons, said: “It is a great privilege to supply our products to the Royal Household, and with the granting of these five new Royal Warrants to HM the King, we will display His Majesty’s Royal Arms on these brands with immense pride.”
Ham producer DukesHill was also among those named. Mark Gallagher, DukesHill’s chief executive, said: "As we approach our 40th anniversary, it is wonderful for our team to be acknowledged for our unwavering dedication to quality, provenance and welfare.”
The current round of grants follows 152 Royal Warrants given in May to companies previously granted the accolade when the King was Prince of Wales. He began granting warrants in 1980.
