Michelin has consolidated its position in the European online restaurant booking market with the acquisition of Spanish firm Restaurantes.com.
The company, which is based in Madrid has more than 5,000 establishments signed up and saw more than 700,000 covers booked in 2015.
In January last year, Michelin acquired Bookatable, enabling it to increase its presence in many European countries.
A statement from Michelin said: "Spanish customers will benefit from Michelin's expertise through a comprehensive and high quality range of services.
"The acquisition of Restaurantes.com is in line with the desire of Michelin, a mobility player since its creation, to offer all its customers a unique mobility experience through products and services with very high added value, and to accompany restaurateurs in the development of their business by proposing new solutions."
Michelin said the latest acquisition along with that of Bookatable has strengthened and accelerated the development of its technology platform for online restaurant reservations.
