Michael Lavizani departs Cameron House

The resort director of Cameron House leaves his role at the luxury Scottish hotel

Michael Lavizani has left his role as resort director of Cameron House on Loch Lomond.

Lavizani joined the property in June 2023 and oversaw a team of 500 people.

The Caterer understands he left his position at the luxury hotel last week.

Before Cameron House, he was general manager at Marine Troon spa and resort in Ayrshire, where he oversaw a major refurbishment of the hotel.

Lavzani began his career as assistant manager at the Royal Horseguards in London, before becoming general manager of Shrigley Hall hotel and spa in Cheshire. Throughout his time in the sector, he has worked with many leading companies including De Vere Estates, and DoubleTree by Hilton.

During his time at the property he oversaw the hotel’s ambitions to scale up its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) business to seal its position as a leading destination in Scotland.

The focus on MICE led the business to rethink its two restaurants with the New England-style Boat House on the marina relaunched in March as La Vista, a modern Italian restaurant with 180-200 covers.

The formal 40-seat fine-dining Tamburrini & Wishart restaurant also transformed into a multipurpose space called the Monarch Room last October.

Speaking to The Caterer earlier this year Lavizani predicted “impressive growth” in 2024, fuelled by its increased focus on MICE bookings, with forecasts of 85%-90% occupancy in the high season and significant increases in turnover across the business.

Cameron House decline to comment.
