McDonald’s has had to pull its Chicken Big Mac from menus after the product sold out “almost everywhere” in the UK.
The fast food chain would not confirm if supply chain issues were to blame but said the product would return “in a few weeks”, having launched earlier this month.
McDonald’s was hit by supply chain issues last year which saw it having to remove its Chicken Legend from delivery menus, while bottled drinks and milkshakes were off the menu across England, Scotland and Wales.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We have been delighted by our customers’ reaction to the limited-edition Chicken Big Mac. The demand has been incredible and we simply cannot keep up. As such we’ve made the decision to pause the promotion, let our restaurant teams and suppliers restock and get ready for its return in a few weeks. We’ll keep customers informed about its return through the usual channels. Thank you to everyone who has made this our most popular launch ever. We can’t wait to bring it back for even more customers to enjoy.”
