Mark Carnazzola appointed hotel manager at Royal Lancaster London

Mark Carnazzola has been appointed hotel manager at the Royal Lancaster London hotel following its £83m, two-year redesign.

He will report to Sally Beck, who has been general manager of the 411-bedroom near Lancaster Gate since 2014.

His initial roles were in finance for hotel groups such as InterContinental Hotels Group, Jumeirah Group and the Maybourne Hotel Group, which includes Claridge's, the Berkeley and the Connaught hotels. He was general manager of the Nobu Hotel Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for two years, and was most recently general manager of the Bentley hotel in London.

Originally from Queensland, Australia, Carnazzola studied operations management at Cornell University in New York and first moved to the UK in 2002.

The hotel originally opened in 1967 as the Royal Lancaster, changing its name to the Lancaster London in 2009 to reflect its central London location. However, on completion of the redesign, the hotel reverted to the Royal Lancaster London following guest, supplier and staff feedback.

The Royal Lancaster London is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Lifestyle Collection.
