Marcus Wareing releases survey to inform how restaurants should reopen

Marcus Wareing has unveiled a survey to help restaurants plan how to ensure their guests feel comfortable and relaxed when they are able to dine out once again.

The chef’s anonymous survey aims to assess what measures consumers would like to see in place when they return to restaurants and asks how often they plan to eat out, compared to the months before the Covid-19 outbreak.

He said: “Our industry is facing a challenge that no restaurateur has ever faced before: dining in a time of physical distancing. We want every guest to feel comfortable and relaxed in our space, so are kindly asking our past and future guests to answer a couple of questions about dining out in a post-Covid environment.”

Wareing is behind London restaurants including the Michelin-starred Marcus at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge, the Gilbert Scott at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London, and Tredwells in Covent Garden.

The government has said it plans allow some hospitality businesses to start to reopen from 4 July, if the spread of Covid-19 is kept under control. To take part in Wareing’s survey click here.
