Macellaio RC to open fourth restaurant in London

The Italian steak brand Macellaio RC, founded by Roberto Costa, will be opening its fourth London venue on Northcote Road in Clapham on 21 July.

The 60-cover restaurant joins existing sites in South Kensington, Exmouth Market and Union Street. Matteo Riganelli will head up the kitchen.

As with the other Macellaio RC restaurants, the Clapham site will combine restaurant and butchery with its Fassona beef, sourced from producers in the renowned region of Piedmont in Italy, which is butchered and dry-aged on-site for 5-7 weeks displayed in the restaurants' ventilated cellars.

The new site will have an emphasis on Italian wines, hand-picked by Costa. The Macellaio RC brand has over a hundred different labels, almost entirely made up of Italian winemakers from all over the country.

Macellaio, Italian for ‘butcher', first opened in South Kensington in October 2012, before launching in Exmouth Market in August 2015 and Union Street in October 2016.
