Luke French and Stacey Sherwood to open Nama in Liverpool

Chef Luke French and wife and business partner Stacey Sherwood have revealed their latest venture, a contemporary Tokyo izakaya-inspired dining and drinking concept in the new G.P.O Food Hall in Liverpool’s MetQuarter.

Opening in late May, Nama (meaning raw) will use only premium quality, sashimi grade fish as well as "responsibly sourced ingredients" from the UK, EU and Japan.

The changing menu will include a variety of sashimi and nigiri such as Cornish seabass with truffle, yuzu and soy; temaki (open hand rolls) with Sicilian red prawn, katsuo furikake and soy; tartares featuring wagyu smoked à la minute with caviar, wasabi and ponzu; and accompanying dishes such as seaweed Caesar salad.

The cocktail list will feature shiso and mandarin soda or yuzu negroni as well as sake.

French and Sherwood also own Jöro restaurant in Sheffield and nearby street food concept Konjö. A new location for Konjö is also expected to open in May at the GPO Food Hall, while the pair are additionally set to open a rooftop fine dining restaurant, terrace and bar at Sheffield’s Cambridge Street Collective food hall.
