Luke French and Stacey Sherwood-French to relocate Jöro

Luke French and Stacey Sherwood-French are to relocate their fine-dining restaurant Jöro to the Oughtibridge Mill development on the outskirts of Sheffield this year.

It comes after the pair revealed plans to open a grocery store and restaurant called Shöp in the former paper mill in 2022.

Oughtibridge Mill is located roughly five miles from Sheffield city centre, where Jöro is currently based.

The pair made the announcement after Giles Coren gave 16-cover Jöro a positive review in the Times last week.

French and Sherwood-French wrote on Facebook: “As mentioned in the review in the Times by Giles Coren, alongside our already announced bar, terrace and BBQ kitchen - we will also be moving Jöro to be a part of our project at Oughtibridge Mill later this year.

“The restaurant will be given its new and deserved home so we can continue to improve, develop and offer the best experiences. As well as giving our team the space to grow and develop with us too.”

Jöro opened in the Krynkl shipping container development in 2016 and serves a 12-course tasting menu alongside an Express lunch option.

The Shöp at Oughtibridge Mill was originally due to launch in spring 2023, selling products such as Yorkshire wagyu, charcuterie and crockery in the day and wines by the glass and simple snacks by night.

The original Jöro site will be converted to French’s east-Asian street food concept Konjö.

French and Sherwood-French also run four-bedroom boutique hotel House of Jöro, which opened in June 2021.
