London hotels see fall in rooms rates and occupancy in September

Room rates and occupancy levels across London hotels dropped in September, according to new figures publishes by data company STR.

Average daily rate and revenue per available room both fell by 3.1% to £158.93 and 3.2% to £138.04 respectively, while occupancy marginally decreased by 0.1% to 86.9%.

The absolute ADR and revpar levels were the lowest for a September in London since 2014.

STR analysts said that although overall performance was negative, London Fashion Week, from 13 - 18 September and the Professional Lighting and Sound Association trade show (16 - 18 September) boosted performance levels on those event days.

STR will release its full September results later this month.
