London hotels record highest occupancy levels since February 2020

Last month, London hotels recorded their highest occupancy levels since the start of the pandemic, according to data from STR.

Properties across the capital recorded an average occupancy of 41% and revenue per available room (revpar) of £40.96 in June, the highest for any month since February 2020, while the average daily rate (ADR) level was the highest since March 2020 at £99.78.

June marked the first full month this year that London hotels could properly welcome guests following the 17 May reopening. It was confirmed yesterday that social distancing restrictions in England will be dropped from 19 July, which is expected to have a positive impact on the viability of businesses, their food and beverage operations and their ability to host events.

However, hotel occupancy in the capital will continue to be stymied while international travel remains limited.
