LHG (London Hotel Group) has been given the green light to develop a £40m, 226-bedroom aparthotel in London's Wembley.
The new hotel on Elm Road is 98 bedrooms bigger than the original scheme granted planning consent last year, without increasing the previously consented building height, appearance or basement depth but more than doubling the capacity of the current building. The new aparthotel is expected to open in 2021.
Meher Nawab, chief executive of LHG, said: "This new, enhanced £40m aparthotel will not only bring more jobs to the area and boost the local economy, but its modern design and contemporary aesthetic will make it more appealing to demanding business and leisure travellers, today and in the future."
Designed with architectural firm Dexter Moren Associates, red and white brickwork with light stone and concrete details will complement the surrounding existing buildings.
