Lee Westcott to launch first venture outside London

Chef Lee Westcott will open his new restaurant Pensons on the Netherwood Estate, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.

In partnership with the estate's Peta Darnley, Pensons will be Westcott's first venue outside of London.

The restaurant sits on land between Hereford and Hertfordshire. The historic farmland has been used for agriculture for much of the last millennia, and is believed to predate the Domesday Book of 1086.

The building work continues the history of the lands - Parsons is made from previously derelict farm buildings on the estate, while rooms will be available in the estate's Grade II-listed 13th century hall house, The Hyde.

The Typing Room, Westcott's former restaurant at the Town Hall Hotel in London's Bethnal Green, closed on 30 June this year.

At the time he said that although the closure was "a little sad" he was "looking forward to exploring other culinary options and getting stuck in exciting projects in the future".
